Making Art: From Dream to Reality

I've always loved art. I grew up going to art museums, learning art history, visiting amazing buildings and places. However, it was always presented as something OTHER people did.

My name is Catherine Burianek. This blog is a record of my journey into the local art world, and possibly (hopefully!) beyond.

I am middle-aged, recently remarried, and a mother of three wonderful humans. I pursued an advanced degree in my other great love--literature. I worked as a public school teacher for a number of years until I walked out and didn't go back (I'm either a horrible person or a hero, I know). Now, I work in a creative and literary non-profit. But when I'm not at work, I'm usually spending time with my family and making art!

In the first couple of posts, I'll tell the story of how I ended up making an artist website and blog and working for a non-profit. After that, I'll be sharing my journey as it unfolds. I hope by doing this, I can inspire others who felt like I did, to believe in themselves and follow their passion, whatever it may be.
